Role model ready with Next Tech Girls

Updated: 23 hours ago

Our CEO, Sam Gaskell, has announced she is teaming up with award-winning social enterprise, Next Tech Girls, as part of its role model scheme.

As a role model, Sam will work the almost 10,000-strong community of young women Next Tech Girls supports, delivering expert knowledge and sharing her own tech journey through in-person and online events, with the hope of inspiring and empowering the next generation.

Sam said: “I didn’t have female role models in place when I was at school and starting out in what was, and continues to be, a male dominated profession. Thanks to the likes of Next Tech Girls, young women up and down the country are now seeing, speaking with and learning from women that have worked their way up and carved out seats for themselves at the table. Anything is possible and nothing is more powerful than seeing that in practice, which is what makes the role model scheme so important - I can’t wait to get stuck in!”

Utilising its high-profile business partners and role model community, Next Tech Girls works with companies and educational institutions to run tech-focussed events and work experience placements for teenage girls, with a focus on those from lower income or ethnic minority backgrounds.

Gayle Thompson-Igwebike, Director of Next Tech Girls, added: “We are delighted to have Sam on board as a role model. Hearing her story and her innate passion and purpose for helping others makes her the perfect addition to the group.

“Sam has so much to offer, not only in terms of tech and data experience, but her mindset and people-led approach to her career has been key to her success and something that our young girls can definitely learn from. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank her and officially welcome her as a NTG Role Model!”
